A screen that fits the counter it stands on
A hygiene screen only works if it covers the gap between the people either side of it. Stock sizes rarely match a real counter, so the screen ends up too narrow, too short, or propped on something. Cut to size solves that: the panel matches the counter, and the pass-through opening sits where money and food actually change hands.
Material
- Clear acrylic — the stiffest and clearest option, and the usual choice for a fixed or freestanding screen.
- PETG where the screen is somewhere it may be knocked and cost matters: tougher than acrylic, easy to machine and clean, but it softens at a lower temperature so keep it away from heat.
- Polycarbonate where impact resistance is the priority over clarity and cost.
Freestanding, mounted or hung
Freestanding screens sit in cut acrylic feet — no fixing into the counter, and they lift off for cleaning. Mounted screens bolt to the counter or a bracket. Hung screens drop from above where the counter cannot be drilled. Tell us which and we will cut the panel, the feet and the fixing holes together.
Pass-through openings
Give us the opening width and height and its position from a named edge. We cut it with the panel and radius the corners, which both looks better and avoids the stress point a square internal corner creates in a plastic sheet.
Cleaning, and the mistake that ruins them
Warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Alcohol, ammonia and solvent cleaners craze acrylic — the fine cracking that turns a clear screen cloudy — and that is exactly what a lot of hygiene protocols reach for. If your site has to use an alcohol-based sanitiser on the screen, tell us before you order and we will steer you to a material that tolerates it.
Cut and finished in our own workshop
Plastic Online is the online counter of Holland Plastics, a Gold Coast fabrication workshop. CNC routing, laser cutting, vacuum forming and plastic welding all happen on one floor, so the person cutting your part can read what you wrote rather than a summary of it.
We cut to ±0.1 mm. Tell us which dimensions are critical — and whether the tolerance has to hold across a stack of parts — and we will confirm that against your drawing at quote stage. A sawn panel, a routed profile and a laser-cut edge come off three different machines, so naming the critical dimension is worth more than assuming it.
Finished parts ship Australia-wide from the capital-city depot nearest you, not always from Queensland. There is no minimum order: one panel is a job.
