UHMWPE

UHMWPE sheet and rod, cut to size and delivered Australia-wide. Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene is the toughest of the polyethylenes. It shrugs off abrasion and impact, slides with very low friction, and resists most acids, alkalis and solvents without taking up water. That combination makes it the usual choice for wear strips, chute and hopper liners, conveyor guides, star wheels, bump pads and marine fenders, anywhere a part takes a beating and still has to keep moving. Natural and green are food grade, so they suit cutting boards, food processing surfaces and wet areas. Natural is the general purpose grade, green shows up clearly against product on a line, and black carries carbon black for outdoor UV exposure. It machines cleanly on standard tooling and can be welded, though it does not take adhesives well, so mechanical fixing is normally the better call.
