Rigid PVC (uPVC) is unplasticised polyvinyl chloride. It’s a hard, durable thermoplastic used for structural applications where strength and dimensional stability matter.

It’s used in piping, ducting, cladding, window frames, electrical conduits, chemical tanks, and fabricated components that need stiffness and good chemical resistance.

Standard rigid PVC has moderate UV resistance. For long-term outdoor exposure, it typically needs UV-stabilising additives or a protective coating to prevent brittleness and colour fade.

It has excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, and many industrial chemicals. It’s not suited for strong solvents or high-temperature chemical environments.

Yes. It can be cut, routed, bonded with solvent cement, and hot-air welded. It machines cleanly and is commonly used in plastic fabrication for tanks, covers, and custom components.
