What are acrylic sheets used for?
Acrylic sheets are used for signage, displays, point-of-sale stands, glazing, aquariums, windows, protective screens, lighting features and decorative installations. They are chosen for their clarity, strength and ease of fabrication.
Are acrylic sheets stronger than glass?
Yes. Acrylic is significantly stronger and more impact resistant than glass while being much lighter. It won’t shatter like glass, making it a safer glazing option for both indoor and outdoor use.
Can acrylic sheets be cut and machined easily?
Acrylic sheets are easy to cut, rout, drill, polish and thermoform using standard plastic fabrication tools. They can be CNC-routed for precise shapes or heat-formed into bends and curves.
Do acrylic sheets have good UV resistance outdoors?
Acrylic has excellent UV stability. It doesn’t yellow easily and maintains clarity in outdoor applications, which makes it suitable for signs, windows and long-term exterior installations.
